Like some people, change doesn’t always come easy to me.
There will be a limit to the facts you have at some point, and you need to take a leap of faith. I may never have rented my first place, bought a car, gotten married, had children, and purchased my first home if I had waited for a sure thing and/or could afford it. A remodel could be looked at in the same light. If you feel it will contribute to your quality of life and you think you may have the means, what’s holding you back? Other remodeling projects are necessary, like a roof, furnace, and water heater, you may need to take a 2nd mortgage as I did 20 years ago.
I have heard that there is too much uncertainty or that inflation is too high to start a remodel project. I can’t entirely agree. There will always be uncertainty. Inflation may ease, but I don’t remember it ever going down other than gas prices.
There are excellent reasons to get started on your remodel.
First, the longer you wait, the more the material costs. We see quarterly and sometimes monthly price increases. A door or window purchase now will most likely be different and more expensive next year.
Second, with other homeowners being scared, fewer are starting a remodel. With fewer remodels beginning, lead times in our design process are shortened, permit approvals are quicker, construction start dates are scheduled sooner, and construction schedules are shorter.
Third, if your remodel hinges on festering damage to your roof, siding, or subfloor from water, the issue will only worsen and cost more to repair.
Therefore, if you have the means, which may include a loan, there is no time like the present to start the process. Please get in touch with us to set up a free virtual consultation to discuss your project(s). We won’t pressure you into anything. We want to support you and be your personal home contractor.
