Recently, our designer contacted us about a client that needed almost a whole house remodeled. She knew we’d be the perfect contractor for the job. The project included remodeling three bathrooms, a media room, a basement bar, two fireplaces, and a stairway. It also included completing new flooring upstairs and downstairs, removing a sauna to create a storage area, and replacing the canvas material on the walls with drywall. We’re incredibly proud of the media room and will share our process!
The media room was a crucial part of the house remodel because it would be where the family enjoys movie nights, watching football games, and spending time as a family. Before we got to work on it, it was not the best atmosphere for relaxing and hanging out. It was essentially a portion of an unfinished basement with a projector screen nailed to the studs and some seating placed on concrete floors. The lights were industrial light bulbs attached to the rafters. There were exposed pipes and wires. For obvious reasons, it was not the kind of environment the client wanted for their media room.
Before
after
Thankfully, the client had a clear vision for their media room. They wanted it to be a finished room with drywall and paint. They dreamed of having a modern mid-century design style, including a stained clear cedar ceiling with can lights, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and plenty of wall space for their giant TV.
With this wish list, our lead carpenter got to work, navigating the obstacles that always come with every project to make dreams realities. One of the obstacles was reframing walls and lowering the ceiling to fix poor home repairs/remodels from the previous homeowner. To make the clear cedar ceiling fit the area, we had to remove one of the windows. Our client appreciated that we could do this because they have an eye for clean straight lines, which fulfilled that vision. Along with reframing, a ton of electrical work was required for the can lights. Once again, the previous homeowner’s “repairs” had our electricians at work for quite some time fixing the issues to make the electrical systems work perfectly for our clients.
In the end, our clients are thrilled to have a space that makes them feel more relaxed at home and enjoy comfortable, peaceful family time! Our hard work and their design dreams make for a room worthy of a photoshoot!

A client called needing a new look for their daughters’ bathroom. Their bathroom was dark, closed-in, outdated, and cluttered. It was situated in their basement, which naturally caused the room to be dark. However, the client believed we could create a brighter, roomier, and warmer space out of it.
